West of Tulsa is a weekly show that dives deep into the chronicles of motor & machine. Hosted by Emmy Award winning journalist and car fanatic CJ Ward, each episode uncovers compelling and often never before heard experiences behind some of the world’s most desirable and unique vintage, collectible and modern cars and the people who own them. Recorded at the West of Tulsa Studio in Ventura, CA, the show features weekly guests from all across the world, from collectors, race drivers, tuners, and restorers, to automotive museum directors and car show organizers. They all sit down with CJ and swap stories in an unfiltered, free-flowing conversation about the people, legacy, and passion behind these automotive creations.

Why are so many California racetracks closing down? The latest victim is #Irwindalespeedway . It's closing down at the end of 2024 joining a long list of tracks to vanish over the years. Our guest, Jeffrey Wilerth with the Z Club of America and the All Japan Showdown, gives us a history lesson. He used to live at Lime Rock Park and has years of racing experience. We run through a list of now-defunct tracks and the reasons for each closure. There are alternatives to Irwindale but as you'll hear, you may not like them. Since we are just weeks away from the #presidentialelection , we thought it would be fun to look back at a U.S. President who loved his cars and work vehicles. #RonaldReagan , the 40th President of the United States, loved his 1962 Willys Jeep. He also had a Ford tractor, a #subaru Brat (why he rarely drove it is a great story), a 1985 #Ford Ranger pickup truck and his Secret Service Hummer. We also take you on a trip to the Reagan Ranch in Santa Barbara County also known as the Western White House when he was President.
